During the summer of 2019, Jackelyn jumped on to the nr8r family as Production/Post Production Intern. Here she developed her strengths in Editing, Graphic Design and Cinematography!
Logging footage for the creative agency may sound simple but it actually takes a bit of knowledge of how the company organizes their content for it to be done properly. She also worked with assistant editors and creative directors to pull footage needed for promotional purposes.
All of which taught her the necessary skills and mindset to organize content to Narrator’s standards as well as experience first-hand the every day challenges assistant editors experience by working under the wings of great editors!
Graphic Design is one of Jackelyn’s biggest passion so once Narrator Inc. allowed her to shadow under motion graphic designers, She took the opportunity to strengthen her knowledge in what it takes to create well developed lower thirds, title cards, motion graphic assets. Jackelyn continues to use After Effects, Illustrator, C4D, and other smaller programs to create digital art!
She also collaborated with the social media team where she created motion graphics for social media posts, shadowed under producers to come up with content ideas for the company to get more following and even assisted in creating copy for posts!
Assisting with Cinematography, she worked in social features for John Wick Chapter 3 where she was 2nd Assistant Camera: slating scenes, setting up equipment and wrapping everything when scenes were done for the day. Jackelyn even shadowed under camera operators for interviews of Gold Finch that involve stars like Nicole Kidman. Working with the cinematography department, she developed her knowledge with Arris, Reds, and Sony Camera: all of which are very industry based cameras.
Narrator Inc. was a great experience for Jackelyn to learn more of the specific skills she wants to target in her career. For that she’d love to thank everyone in the Narrator Inc. family for being so open to learning through them!
